St. Alban's Challenge
Don Stumped by Downed Tree
The afternoon
of May 3rd, a windstorm hit our area out of the West and blew down our 50-year-old
fir tree located in the front of the church on the SE corner. The fallen tree
almost reached the irrigation ditch next to 10th Street and just missed our
Community Garden fence and gate by inches.
The Eriksen's son, Noel, came over the next morning and cut up the tree for
us...hauling off the usable wood. We burned the limbs and debris on Wednesday
morning.
All that remains of the tree is a stump that we will have to deal with in
the near future. All-in-all we were very lucky there was no other damage.
"Someone" was looking out for us!
